"Hi Elayna~
My nephew is the one on postcrossing- I just write the cards. I work at the building on the card with all the county District Attorneys. I hope you like the card.
Take Care~ Drew + Kristy."

That's sweet that the aunt writes the cards for her nephew.
I also think it is cool that she has a direct relationship with the building on the card. Very cool!

"Hello Elayna!
My name is Suta. I am from Russia. I hope you like it. Greetings from Russia :)"

What a cool card!  It looks like some old church...I wonder what happened to it and its history. Hmmm.

Happy Postcrossing!

I love the old appearance of this card, and the Shakespeare quote. Shakespeare is an amazing writer, obviously.

Two Gift Cards - Belgium
[info]elaynab
After sending a page of legends to someone in Belgium as a direct swap, they sent these two postcards back to me.

"Hello Elayna!
Thank you very much for the page for my TN about myths and legends! I really love it. The legend of the Spanish Moss is my favorite. I hope you like the cards I picked out for you. :)"

"I went to a postcrossing meeting in Brussels. It was great fun. You ever been to one?"
I had to sign so many postcards....I must be famous now, haha!
Thanks!

Another one in Spanish!
It is basically talking about how these are historical buildings in his city. How cool!

"Hope you'll like the card and a little history passage!
Happy postcrossing! <3"

According to the history passage, this is a card of Anna Ioannovna. She married King Frederick I of Prussia, who soon died two months after her marriage. Then after the death of Peter II in 1730, the privy council made her empress of Russia. She did virtually nothing.
I didn't learn about her in AP Euro History...but it gives me a chance to learn it now!

"Hallo Elayna.
My name is Wilma, I'm 54 years old and I work as a primary school teacher. I read a lot of Children's books. I'm also a fan of Harry Potter. I've all the books  and the DVD's. I'm a fan of Train too. I visited a concert from Train in Tilburg once. A unique food in Holland are poffertjes. That are very small thick pancakes - 4 cm. On our bread we eat hagelslag. That is made of chocolate in the form of I <-- this size. We went on a short holiday (4 days) to the Waddeneilanden that is in the north of our country land (and is a unesco project.) We stayed at SCHIERMONNIKOOG that is the 5th island seen from the wet. Nice nature, dunes, strands, cycling paths. Hartleyk groeten uut Rotterdam van Wilma."

I really like this card; it just has a very unique cover!
What is ironic about what this person said in this card, is that I am going to see a Train concert tonight! I am honestly so excited!

"Hello! Aqui una pictura de un famosos artsta timlandes. La imagen esta basada en una leyenda de nuestro epopey nacional 'Kalevala.'' Le viejo 'Vainamoinen' trata de seducir la jovenita 'Aino' que al tin nuye a un lago para ahogarso. Muy triste. A pesar de eso te euvio mejores saludos. Aila"

I know there are no accents here. I was using a computer without the international keyboard to type it up.
Also, some of the words might be spelled wrong because I had trouble reading the handwriting.

Basically, from what I can tell, it is a sad legend about a young woman who was seduced and used.
It is still a pretty card though. I am glad I am finally receiving some in Spanish.

"Hey Elayna!
My name is Jiajia (rhymes w/ gaga except with a J) and this is my first postcard! I'm 16, going on 17 soon, so I think I'm your age too. Rising senior? Class of 2011! :) College apps...ugh. I'm from MD, but I've actually close to D.C. than what you think of Maryland (i.e. crabs). Well enjoy your card!"

It's always nice to get a card from someone who just stared postcrossing.
I'm not in the class of 2011...I'm a part of Class of 2012! Still close in age though.

"Hi there, Elayna :)
I hope you like this picture of 'the Bluenose" - it has sailed all over the world and is often called Canada's Tall Ship ambassador. It is an amazing sight to see it under full sail and with wind in its sails- I live in Halijart, Nova Scotia- much of our lifestyle is connected to the sea.
Best Wishes from Canada!
Maggie"

The ship really does look beautiful! I hope I'll see it one day.
This also makes me want to ride a sail boat.
